JANUARY

Flag events – Three championships at the Playmakers Winter Blitz tournament:

On to Orlando for the NFL Flag Football National Championships at the Pro Bowl.  Pool play games and bracket play games were held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in conjunction with the Pro Bowl Experience events.  Some of our families arrived early in Orlando to take part in Disney and Pro Bowl Experience events:

DAY ONE OF THE NFL FLAG NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT – Group visit to WWOS and the NFL Flag Football Opening Ceremonies.

DAY TWO – Let the games begin!  All three of our teams made it to the semi-finals game.  12u and Girls played well but lost by 1 point and 1 TD, respectively.  After going 0 and 3 in pool play, our 10u team won in the semi-finals and earned a spot in the championship game.

Russell Wilson stopped by for a photo op before our game started.

DAY THREE – Kids got to sleep in and then we all headed back to WWOS for the 10u championship game which was streamed live on ESPN 3.  Nick Chubb was the guest coach! Both teams played excellent defense.  TTEF was used to being in close games and the boys stayed focused and earned the championship!

That night we visited the Magic Kingdom.  Our group was so big we forgot to keep everyone together for our regular group photo, but the girls remembered.

DAY FOUR – The whole trip was capped off with a visit to Camping World Stadium to watch the Pro Bowl in person.  We had access to the field before the game started.

MEANWHILE . . .

Our High School 7on7 team used a Phoenix tournament as practice to prepare for the next week’s invitation-only Battle Miami 7v7 Tournament.  As part of their trip to Florida, they got to visit the University of Miami.  Every game for almost every team in the tournament could have gone either way.  Our guys lost by one point to the team that won the whole tournament.

FEBRUARY

The HS 7s team started out the month playing in the Red Zone Elite Super Bowl tournament in Phoenix and then made the trip to Vegas for the second tournament in the Battle Sports series.
